Is this a thing?
Hellybuck should be in net until he has a loss.
End of story |

Welcome to our world last yr, Mase has not been the same since the 15-16 season. I get the signing, along with our singing of Elliot, it was one big gamble, that you can stuff in the minors yr 3. I hope he turns his game around, the nhl is better when the jets are in the playoffs. |

Peter Tessier: How to manage the Jets' 2 Goalies
At this juncture there is no goaltending controversy but there could be one, for all the wrong reasons, if the tandem in Winnipeg is not handled carefully. - Peter.Tessier
Keep platooning them with Helly getting 66% of the games until Mason hopefully gets his game in gear.
Of course the Penguins just waived Antii Neimi....but that would be a step down even from Mason. Maybe the Pens saw the situation in Vegas and is attempting a salary dump at an opportune time. |

Low Danger Save Percentage
Hellebuyck- .1000
Mason- .933
I hope your decimal is in the wrong place or that Hellebuyck has only seen 10 low danger shots and got extremely unlucky. |

I think Byfuglien could be the answer in net.
I think the Jets should try and trade Byfuglien for a package involving Galchenyuk. Bergevin seems like a fun a GM to make trades with.

We have Mason signed for 2 years not 4. 4 years would have been a huge ugly gamble, as it stands it was a necessary signing in the off season and sure it was a risk but Mason is much better then his numbers show. There is a night and day difference in how the team plays in front of Helly vs Mason. For that reason and that reason only you ride Helly until he falters or until the Jets find their game and play solid and consistent night in and night out. |

Why try to force feed Mason the starting job?
Helle has been better and long term is the goalie of the future. The best case scenario is currently playing out where Helle takes the #1 job and Mason backs him up.
If you have one goalie sitting there with .928 save percentage with 4 starts and another goalie with .846 with 3 starts I know which one I want between the pipes.
Jets have won 4 out of their last 5 and their one loss is the Mason start... Something to think about.
I agree you split the back to back games, but I come back with Helle when the Penguins come to town and roll with Helle again against the Wild.
Just play the guy that is doing better most of the time. If that stops being Helle fine. Right now Helle is clearly doing better so lets ride him.

Try Byfuglien in net. - Razzdazzle1
He's a winger playing top pairing D, so not so much of a stretch there.

Ride whoever is winning. Pretty simple. Maximize your wins and deal with the consequences. Pretty much like a football team. Ride the winner. |

Helle deserves every start he gets. You've got to put Mason in there on the B2b games and the 3 games in 4 nights scenarios. Give him a chance to redeem himself.
I'm looking very forward to see Hendricks in the lineup on Thursday. Such an excellent pickup for the Jets !
Going to be a real grind for the Jets the next two games. First Pittsburgh on the road and then the nightmare scenario of getting Columbus the next night. They might be the toughest team in the league to play on the second night of a back to back. If we split the two games its an accomplishment. Luckily when we face Pittsburgh at home Sunday , the Pens will have played the night before Minnesota. |

Maybe Hendricks can win a few faceoffs.....
Only Little is above 50%.
Scheifele 48.1%, Lowry 43.1%, Copp 45.5% , Matthias 44.4% |

and down goes Petan to the Moose - bennythehat
I was thinking Dano first then Petan. Moose will benefit from Petan being there. A winning Moose team sells tickets.
Chevy is in Montreal. They could use some help on defence. As we close in on the 10 game mark you've gotta think he is shopping Chariot around. You never know though with our depth at defence that it might not be another Jet defender as Poolman can fit right in as a replacment. Guys like Gallagher and Galchenuk might be expendable and good fits to add some scoring to our third line.

Maybe Chevy was scouting the Panthers last night in Montreal ?
I am not sure that Montreal needs more RHDmen. |
